Denise Walser-Kolar is an internationally-recognized botanical artist and instructor. She teaches at the Minnesota School of Botanical Art, loves to travel teach, and her workshops at the annual American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) Conference are always very popular.
Denise’s work has been exhibited at the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, American Society of Botanical Artists/Horticultural Society of New York International Exhibits, and Focus on Nature. In 2011, she received a Silver-Gilt Medal from the Royal Horticultural Society in London for her paintings of Hybrid Hazelnuts. Her work is held in the permanent collection of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation.

The false indigo and dandelion grow in my garden, the hazelnuts are from my time teaching at Clos Mirabel in France, and my neighbor grew the tiny red onion.

The blackberry and the false indigo grow in our garden, the beetle was crawling in a sunflower in my daughter's garden, and the seashell was in a box of treasures I got from Nancy.

I grew the hazelnut and blueberry myself, the shell is from Sanibel Island, and the flowers grows in what was my mom's garden - I'm not sure what it is, but it blooms in the early spring.
