I have been fortunate to have studied with vairous potters over the years. My introduction to ceramics was a Luther College with Master Potter Dean Schwarz and more recently, in study with Wisconsin Potters Barry Weiss and Art Gannett. Their teaching has inspired me to challenge myself to always strive to grow as an artist, to look for what is possible with the clay.
In Creating Functional Pottery I have found a bridge between the ancient and modern art of ceramics. Each vessel is handcrafted to be as useful as they are beautiful. In creating pottery, I believe that form follows function and my work is crafted to draw the user's eyes to its beauty, hands to its touch and heart to a lifetime of daily use and enjoyment.
